B.A.C. Bloodhound outside the R.A.F. Museum
Retired in 1991 the Bloodhound surface to air missile was in service with the R.A.F. for 32 years. This missile is displayed here with the markings of No 85 Squadron

Entrance to The RAF Museum
On the 15 November 1972, Her Majesty the Queen officially opened the Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon. At that time some 36 aircraft were available for viewing. Now 130 aircraft had been acquired for the Museum and the displays must rank as one of the most comprehensive collections of historic military aircraft anywhere in the world.
