Looking south. East Midlands trains pass through the far platforms without stopping, while platforms 1 and 2 nearer the camera are served by Thameslink trains, but only the slower, short-distance ones serving the Sutton/Wimbledon loop - the others, such as Brighton to Bedford, pass through with disdain.

Kentish Town station, platform 1
This platform is used for local stopping services which continue to St. Pancras International (from 9 December 2007), Farringdon, City Thameslink and after that to Sutton by either of two routes. Also using this track, but not stopping, are some services to Brighton. In all, there are six tracks through Kentish Town, of which four are provided with platforms, but only platforms 1 and 2 are regularly used.

The Robin Hood
Royal Scot Class locomotive 46115 'Scots Guardsman' heads The Robin Hood steam special through Kentish Town. This was the first steam train to depart St.Pancras since the station was rebuilt and, with a fittingly named locomotive, made a fine sight on Remembrance Sunday.
