Finchley Road
Green Line AEC Reliance, RS1, heads north along the Finchley Road on route to Luton Airport. The driver is demonstrating relaxed driving, with his 'police style' shades on and his elbow resting on the window. Clearly the pigeons know that everyone cuts across lanes here because the road narrows after the lights, otherwise they wouldn't be carrying out their waste food disposal duties so nonchalantly. Note the old style pedestrian signal in the top right corner of the photo. RS1 continued in service with London Country until 1982, subsequently passing to independent operators. You can see a photo of this vehicle with Knotty's of Staffordshire on flickr by searching for its registration, PPH431R.
