Railway lines at Kilburn
London Underground and national rail services to and from Marylebone run on parallel tracks through north west London. The national rail services use the two tracks to the right. Of the four London Underground tracks, the Jubilee Line uses those in the centre while the Metropolitan Line generally uses the remaining two. This image is unusual as the Underground train is "1959" stock working on the Jubilee Line. Usually the Jubilee Line was operated by more modern types of train. On this day, however, engineering work near the Jubilee Line depot at Neasden prevented the Jubilee Line trains from operating south into Central London. "1959" stock trains from the Bakerloo Line operated on the Jubilee Line for one day only, as far north as Willesden Green.
