Regent's Park Road
The Queen's Hotel on the left has playing cards on its sign featuring the Queen of Spades. The public house lies on the southern gateway into Primrose Hill Urban Village and Regent's Park Road is the main east-west artery across the area with numerous shops and restaurants. An interesting point is that the majority of buildings along the street are commercial units on the ground floor and residential on the floors above.

Commemorative plaque, 122 Regent's Park Road
A great political theorist and philosopher, Engels published 'The Condition of the Working Class in England' in 1845. This was based on personal observations and research gathered while he was working in his father's Manchester factory. He collaborated with Karl Marx in writing 'The Communist Manifesto' (1848), later he supporting Marx financially to do research and write 'Das Kapital'. One of Engels' later works, which he wrote while living in Regent's Park Road, 'The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State', connects his theories of social history and capitalism with what he argues is an ever-changing institution – the family. He was 74 when he died in 1895. His ashes were scattered off Beachy Head, near Eastbourne.
