The site of the former Kings Arms in Ballygate
A deed referring to 1754, describes this building as the Kings Arms. Kings Arms public house from which it inherited the name, was from a period well before 1754, and would have occupied this site, and had been demolished before this present building was erected in the early 18th century according to English Heritage.

The former Crown And Anchor and The Angel in Ballygate
The Crown and Anchor (near, 7, Ballygate) also traded as The Black Swan 1825 - 1830, then changed the name to The Crown and Anchor, finally closing in 1974. The Angel next door, (5, Ballygate) was formerly the Maid's Head 1638 - 1733, and the Bull 1733 - 1792, when it was renamed The Angel finally closing in 1975. Both are currently used for solely residential purposes.
