Beccles Primary Academy the former Crowfoot School
The school located in Ellough Road, was opened in 1952, the first headmistress was Miss Wrigley who had previously taught at Ravensmere school. Built by Day & Sons of Norwich, it was completed in February 1952, at a cost of £76,000 with accommodation for 350 children. The on site kitchen and dining hall were at the time 'state of the art'. The playground and playing field are behind the main building seen here, on the north-eastern part of the grounds.

Former granary of Ingate Mill, Beccles
Ingate Mill was a post mill, the date of its erection is unknown but it was offered for sale in 1808: "An Estate in Beccles now in the occupation of Mr William Crisp, jnr, the Proprietor, who is changing his residence. Consisting of A substantial Post Windmill with two pairs of French Stones, flour mill & going gears complete, with a commodious Round House and Chamber over it, affording room for 120 qrs of wheat, A neat Dwelling House comprising a parlour, Kitchen, 4 Chambers etc. A Cottage upon the Premises, a good Stable and other convenient buildings. The whole, with a good Garden attached, occupies half an acre of Land, freehold." In 1859 it was again on offer: "Ingate Mill, to be Let or Sold, with immediate possession, lately occupied by Mr James Artis, deceased. Four patent sails & winding tackle complete, driving three pairs of excellent French burr stones, with flour mill, dumper & all going gears in capital trim, together with a good & genteel residence & productive kitchen garden: miller’s cottage upon the premises; a spacious granary (recently erected) pollard house, stables, gig house, cart shed, piggeries etc & about 2 acres of good pasture land. In 1896 the mill caught fire, was completely destroyed, and was never repaired. The miller's house is still extant Image]
