The school located in Ellough Road, was opened in 1952, the first headmistress was Miss Wrigley who had previously taught at Ravensmere school. Built by Day & Sons of Norwich, it was completed in February 1952, at a cost of £76,000 with accommodation for 350 children. The on site kitchen and dining hall were at the time 'state of the art'. The playground and playing field are behind the main building seen here, on the north-eastern part of the grounds.
