At the crossroads
Turn left for Wells and Walsingham; turn right here at Little Snoring and the road will take you round the old wartime airfield. Occasional small aircraft come and go, but the RAF Mosquito squadrons left in 1945.

Crossways Caravan Park
The owners think that this was the location of the station's Sick quarters when RAF Little Snoring was an active airfield during WW2, but according to the official site plan the Hospital was located at the northern end of Kettlestone Road and the WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) occupied what is now Crossways Caravan Park. The old concreted tracks and hut bases are still in place. The concreted tracks and hut bases are still in place > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4126965. The building depicted here is the only one that has survived. It has long since been converted into a workshop with toilets at one end. A filled in air raid shelter adjoins > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4126980.

What most of the campers probably won't know is that the overgrown hump depicted here is an air raid shelter which would seem to still be in place albeit inaccessible.
