This used to be Colonel Albert Shower's quarters, situated on the edge of the Mess site (Site 6) of RAF Rackheath, which was an active airfield during WW2. Col Shower was the commanding officer (CO) of the 467th Bombardment Group for as long as the USAAF was based at Rackheath. After Colonel James Mahoney's promotion to Deputy CO he also lived here. This is a view into one of the offices.

Overgrown blast shelter
On the former Mess site (Site 6) of RAF Rackheath, which used to be an active airfield during WW2. A number of blast shelters can still be found here, and the one depicted here is situated right beside the road. The two slight humps at right mark its entrance.

Site 6 was where the Mess halls and dining rooms were located and Colonel Albert Shower, the commanding officer (CO) of the 467th Bombardment Group, was also housed here. Remains of buildings, trackways and blast shelters can still be found here.
