This used to be Colonel Albert Shower's quarters, situated on the edge of the Mess site (Site 6) of RAF Rackheath, which was an active airfield during WW2. Col Shower was the commanding officer (CO) of the 467th Bombardment Group for as long as the USAAF was based at Rackheath. After Colonel James Mahoney's promotion to Deputy CO he also lived here.
