Bracken fronds still green
Whereas the bracken fronds in other woodlands have long since turned brown they are not as yet displaying any signs of preparing for the coming winter in Oak Belt.

Coppiced beeches
On the edge of Oak Belt. The ground at this time of the year is very soggy and rainwater has accumulated in dips in the ground surrounding Scottow Pond. Scottow Pond > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1031108 is a fishing lake; it is surrounded by Oak Belt, a mixed plantation woodland of coppiced and standard trees.
