As expected, Bridge Street leads from the bridge over the Usk towards the town centre. There are rows of workers cottages up the steep hill, now desirable town houses.

The original route from the town centre of Crickhowel to the bridge over the Usk, later by-passed circa 1830 when New Road was laid out. bridge Street is lines with attractive period cottages, several of which are grade 2 listed.

Up Bridge Street, Crickhowell
Bridge Street ascends towards Lamb Lane, High Street and Castle Road. Before New Road opened in 1830, this was a main route through Crickhowell. In 2015 it is a side street with a one-way system, up the hill.
