Vineyard at Abergavenny
This vineyard was established some ten to fifteen years ago on these south-facing slopes and seems to be doing well. I can't say that I've been tempted to try a glass of theirs yet but I wouldn't decline one if the opportunity arose.

The Nant Iago brook near the Pentre, Abergavenny
When I was a lad spotting Dippers on this little stream was often possible. But it was treelined then and shallower and wider. This landscaping will soon be taken over by nature I'm sure.

Large mansion on the western outskirts of Abergavenny
This large country house (large for Wales anyway) is called The Pentre and dates from the Georgian period. It was the home of several important landowning families until the 1980's and was refurbished in the 1990's and is still a private home.
Viewed from the Brecon Road, the busy A40. The hill behind it is the Rholben.
