Part of Flannel Street, Abergavenny
Part of the remnants of the old town of Abergavenny with a warren of narrow lanes and paths, mainly replaced by re-developments in the 1960s, as can be seen from the view of the rear of the Post Office and telephone exchange building behind. The pub here, the Hen and Chickens, is one of the town's gems.

Entrance to former church and grammar school
St. John's Church is thought to date from the early 1300s but once St. Mary’s Priory was given to the people for use as their parish church following the dissolution of the monasteries, St. John’s became disused and in 1542 it became the town’s grammar school. Henry VIII gave tithes, once used to support the priory, to the school. In 1898 a new school was built away from the town centre and named King Henry VIII Grammar School. St.John’s was then purchased by the Freemasons and used as their lodge.
