Southern entrance to Pontnewynydd Primary School
Viewed from Lower Leigh Road. White symbols on the surface of the entrance drive direct pedestrians to use the lane on the right. Pedestrians can also enter the school on its northern side, via a long, steep, winding path from Lower Leigh Road.
Construction of the school began in 1901. It opened in 1903. There are currently about 140 pupils enrolled, aged from 4 to 11.
