Viewed in January 2016. Formerly a single-track, single-platform station, Tir-Phil on the Rhymney Line now has two platforms and two tracks. Viewed from platform 1, the recently-built platform 2 is for trains to Cardiff.

CCTV is CTCC in Welsh, Tirphil railway station
The yellow notice on platform 1 shows that CCTV is CTCC (Camerau Teledu Cylch Cyfyng) in Welsh. Viewed in April 2019, six months after Transport for Wales took over the railway franchise from Arriva Train Wales. The Arriva Train Wales name on the notice has been obliterated.
