Libanus church, Brynmawr
Libanus is a Presbyterian Church in Wales church, located on the corner of Worcester Street and Chapel Street. A recent external redecoration has given the church an attractive appearance, certainly an improvement on its drab grey appearance previously. The church was built in 1848. In 1870, it was severely damaged when several 100 pound barrels of gunpowder, stored in a nearby warehouse, were detonated when a boy unthinkingly lit a candle in the dark when sent to fetch some items from the warehouse.
