The bank on the corner of Stow Hill and Bridge Street was formerly a Midland bank branch. Viewed in June 2017. The branch has recently been rebranded from HSBC to HSBC UK. The building was Grade II listed in 2000.

Commemorative Milestone in Westgate Square, Newport
This modern milestone is part of the In Their Footsteps art project, which remembered the march of the Chartists across South Wales in November 1839. Primarily the Chartists were demanding the right to vote in parliamentary elections, however, the protests were met with violence which resulted in about 22 deaths.
