Mathern Day Nursery
Located in the Old School alongside the main road through the village.
The privately-owned day nursery has places for 45 children, aged from 1 month up to their fifth birthday.

Model Cottages, Mathern
These are not models of cottages, but full sized late Victorian buildings.
One source states that they were built as almshouses. Another source states that they were built
as workers' cottages belonging to the Wyelands estate of Brigadier Vaughan-Hughes.
Both sources agree that they date from 1891.

Millers Arms viewed from the NE, Mathern
