Chepstow - granite drinking fountain
This drinking fountain used to stand in Bank Square where, in 1878, it had replaced one of Chepstow's ancient town pumps. Some time after WW2, vandalism had caused Chepstow Town Council to give up trying to maintain it in working order, and had it moved here, the top end of Castle Dell where it continues to be vandalised: the top having been knocked off and replaced just recently. (ref. "The Town of Chepstow" by Ivor Waters).

Boscobel House Dental Surgery, Chepstow
Located on Welsh Street. Boscobel House formerly had the only bell-foundry in the county of Monmouthshire, located at the rear of the property. Bells were probably made here from the 16th century. A bell-house was recorded as existing in 1605. The present-day building is Georgian.

Unusual house
Chepstow has a fair mixture of different styles and budgets for housing, but this one stands out on the corner of Welsh Street and St Kingsmark Avenue. See Image] for a crest on the upper part of the wall.

House with a coat
A coat of arms on a fairly unusual type of house in Chepstow. There is no other explanation although the motto appears to be: huic habeo non tibi. That is normally associated with the Newton family name, although the coat of arms may be of some other. See Image] for a wider view of the house.

Rooftop chat, Chepstow
Viewed across Welsh Street. A man leaning out of an attic window faces two men in the platform. Is he saying "Welcome to the party. Sorry the front door is jammed". Perhaps not...

Heritage paving
Chepstow has a number of heritage information stones dotted around the place. Unusually, they are embedded in the pavement. See Image] for a wider view of the area next to the entrance to Castle Ditch.
