The spectacular interior of St. Mary's, Wellingborough
The church is little more than a century old and was designed by highly regarded architect, Sir Ninian Comper. The church is extremely ornate, but never vulgar, and the golds and blues blend in perfectly well with the local deep golden stone. The church is in the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England and has a friendly and helpful vicar!

Wellingborough: The Church of St Mary the Virgin (2)
The church was built, in the Perpendicular Gothic style, of ironstone ashlar with limestone dressings, between 1908 and 1930 to the designs of Sir Ninian Comper. It is a Grade I Listed Building, and one of only about sixty in the country so designated that were constructed after 1901. This is the view from Knox Road.
