Memorial to Corby steel workers
A small village up to the 1930s, Corby then boomed when steel started to be made from the locally abundant Jurassic ironstone; many of the workers coming from Scotland. Hard-hit by the closure of the steel works in the 1980s, the town has started to attract new businesses.
