When I was an undergraduate this was still a Female Hall (it became mixed in 2000) and had a feel of the '50's still - that was the mid/late '70's

Two old oaks
Recently saved from being sacrificed on the altar of the all-pervasive sport. The university want to extend the sports centre and the originally the plans involved felling these 200+ year-old oaks. That application was turned-down on the basis of the survival of the trees. Well done Nottingham City Council! I have an awful fear that somebody will "mistakenly" fell them anyway.
