Derelict Shop on Alfreton Road
Not a rare sight. This appears to have been a fast-food outlet most recently. The small red writing on the sign says Chicken Hut (above the door) and New York Paris Radford (across the top). Let's hope the New York and Paris branches are more successful!

The ex-Rose and Crown
On Alfreton Road, Nottingham. Not been a pub for at least four years, but retains the name plaque above what was the door.

Looking up Raleigh Street towards Alfreton Road (A610). O'Rourkes Irish pub, that sits on the corner of Stoneleigh Street, has now become The Corner Bar.

The ex Rose and Crown being refurbished?
Either that or just having some roof maintenance. I last took this view in 2008 Image

Gamble's Factory, steam engine
This was a real discovery when it crawled out of the woodwork in 1980. It's an 1873 Hick, Hargreaves Corliss engine with Spencer Inglis double clip trip gear. It's also a rare UK example of a single eccentric Corliss (enough technical stuff!). Anyway, it's now on display at Forncett Industrial Steam Museum in Norfolk.

Nottingham - NG7
A row of small workshops, with rooms above, in Gamble Street. In Sheffield these might be described as having belonged to (or been rented to) "little mesters", those independent, metal-working craftsmen - the little masters - of yesteryear.

Former factory, Gamble Street, Nottingham
In a cluster of former industrial buildings associated with lacemaking. This is the former Foster's factory, dated 1881. Like everything else, it's now student accommodation (Raleigh Square).
