Houses beside the Nottingham Canal at Lenton
These modern houses are on Petersham Mews which replaced traditional terraced houses on Petersham Street. They have an enviable location overlooking the canal.

Nottingham Canal: rivets and reflections
Bridge 13 carries the Leen Valley line built by the Midland Railway in 1848, now the Robin Hood Line. The line to Trowell and the Erewash Valley route diverges at Radford, a mile or so to the north.

Must surely be short on root space. When crossing the bridge it seems nothing out of the ordinary, but from this viewpoint its predicament becomes apparent.

Abbey Bridge, Lenton, Nottingham
Some users joining this 600-700 metre shortcut for pedestrians and cyclists between the closed end of the Grove Road cul-de-sac and Lenton Lane are obliged to duck down in order to pass beneath the lower of these two bridges, i.e. a railway bridge. Above it, the A6005 is carried over it by Abbey Bridge. Road traffic travelling in a southwesterly direction on the latter, i.e. to the left, will arrive at the east side of the Queen's Medical Centre (< a hospital) within minutes.
