Lord Nelson, Old Basford
Not the most architecturally inspiring of pubs, the Lord Nelson appeared not to have opened for quite a while at the time of this view. Note that its sign has been replaced by a "To Let" sign. The pub is situated a short way back from the junction of Cowley Street (right) with Percy Street.

Former Prince of Wales Brewery, Percy Street
This brewery ceased brewing in 1919 when the business moved to form Home Ales in Arnold, the site here not allowing for expansion. The current owners moved to this site from South Yorkshire when the premises become vacant and have been ever since. Murphy and Sons are makers of chemicals of all sorts for the brewing industry.

Old brewery, Old Basford
Close to the junction of Bar Lane (right) and Percy Street, near to the point at which the latter becomes Alpine Street, stands this old brewery. While the maltings over the road (obscured by the tree on the right) have been converted into student accommodation, the brewery is still in a sort of industrial use connected with the brewing industry - see Image for further information.
