Stanhope Road
This was the last part of the residential development off Arnold Lane to be completed. Beyond, the horizontal rows of housing are part of the large estate built primarily to house workers at the adjacent Gedling Colliery.

Rutted footways
It's not clear whether this refers to the footway alongside the roadway or the one disappearing behind the hedge, but it seems a bit of an extravagance. The quality of both is far better than most footpaths!
