Benchmark on Handley Monument
Ordnance Survey cut mark benchmark levelled at 15.462m above Newlyn Datum in 1956 verified 1965. The mark was previously levelled at 51.409 feet above Liverpool Datum during the London to Doncaster 1GL Survey of 21 June 1848 - 18 December 1851. The surveyor's description was 'No. 786. Mark on South-east side of Hanley's Monument, South-street, Sleaford ; 1.31 ft. above surface'

Sleafordian coach
A Optare Solo low floor bus, or rather coach. The Sleafordian company refers to all of its vehicles as coaches. The company operates two of these vehicles for the "town" service (you will notice the destination blind number "1T")

Handleys Monument
This is one of Sleaford's best known landmarks. Henry Handley came from an influential Sleaford family and died in 1846, having served for nine years as the local MP. The statue is of Handley himself.

Handley Memorial, South Gate
Grade II Listed 1850 memorial in the form of 'Eleanor Cross' by architect William Boyle of Birmingham. Completed in 1852 as 'Handley Testimonial' the Sleaford townspeople had raised £942 by subscription to fund its building. Henry Handley was born in Sleaford in 1797 and died in 1846; he was a Member of Parliament for the Southern Division of Lincolnshire between 1832 and 1841.
