The only way into the pub. Too narrow and too many levels for a wheelchair, but it is an old building and likely exempt from the legislation on access on that account.

The Robin Hood at Aslackby, near Bourne, Lincolnshire
The village pub at Aslackby, the Robin Hood and Little John, stands alongside the main A15 road at the turning off into the village. This ancient inn dates back to Regency times and was a regular watering stop for coaches plying between London and Lincoln. A favourite verse of past times, often quoted by customers, was: “All you men who think it good, Come have a drink with Robin Hood. If Robin Hood abroad has gone, Then have a drink with Little John.”

The Robin Hood and Little John
This pub has closed twice since the millennium, but re-opened this week under new management, and I was treated to an excellent dish of liver and bacon for lunch.
The new landlord moved here from the successful Fortescue Arms at Billingborough which seems brave given the uncertain history of this place, but he obviously knows his business and had put on a good range of well-thought of beers.
