Village Inn, Oasby. Houblon Arms
Built around 1650, the inn was initially called ‘The Old Red Lion’ and later renamed after Sir John Houblon, one of the main land-owners in the area, and the first governor of the Bank of England.

Auxiliary valve cover
The valve referred to by the sign at Image It is set in the middle of the road, with the long side parallel to the kerb. "AV" is an auxiliary valve. These are sometimes used on either side of a service valve or fire hydrant, in case that needs changing, but in this case it appears to be backing up just the domestic stopcocks
