All Saints' church, Hough on the Hill, Lincs.
Only 4 church towers in the country have a Saxon external staircase turret and All Saints' has arguably the best. A church rich in history and fine architecture, a churchyard of fine trees in a very pretty village.

Hough-on-the-Hill: view from the churchyard
Looking west from the churchyard. Many villages in the area are largely stone-built, some - like Harlaxton and Manthorpe - mainly red-brick. Here, in the older part of Hough, stone and brick-built houses stand alongside one another.
The pub at the corner is the 'Brownlow Arms'.
