Reliance Bus, Grantham Bus Station, 1979
The old (pre 1984) bus station alongside the museum. Reliance (Simmons (Coaches) Ltd of Great Gonerby) shared services in the town with National Bus subsidiary Lincolnshire Road Car. Reliance continued to run after deregulation in 1986, until being bought out in 2003 by Mass Transit of Sheffield. Mass Transit then took over Road Car operations the following year when the latter closed their local garage, but had over-reached themselves financially and pulled out of Grantham in February 2005. The Simmons subsidiary had itself gone into liquidation at the end of the previous year. Since 2005, local services are run by Centrebus.

St Peter's Hill, Tollemache
This Wetherspoon pub is named after the Hon Frederick Tollemache, whose statue (Image]) stands outside its front doors and can be seen to the left in this photograph. Tollemache was the town's MP for much of the 19th century.

Tollemache statue
In a prominent position on St.Peter's Hill, the inscription reads "The honourable Frederick Jas. Tollemache born 1801 died 1888. He represented this borough in Parliament with occasional interval from 1826 to 1874. Erected in 1891 by the friends who revered his memory, irrespective of political opinions"

Frederick James Tollemache Statue
The bronze statue of Hon Frederick James Tollemache MP, who was Member of Parliament for Grantham several times from 1826 to 1874. Cast in bronze by George Simonds of London, it is Grade II-listed by English Heritage (English Heritage ID:193011 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-193011-statue-of-honourable-frederick-james-tol British Listed Buildings).
