West Bridgford: on Loughborough Road
Looking towards Trent Bridge Cricket Ground from the pedestrian crossing at the end of Millicent Road. (The picture was taken during the interval of a One-Day Cup semi-final, so there were fewer spectators on the Radcliffe Road middle tier than during play - like me, many of them had left their seats to stretch their legs.)

West Bridgford: Rushworth Avenue
The white terrace with pediments is unlike other houses in Victorian and Edwardian Bridgford - I have a feeling that it may be slightly earlier than most of them. The view is from the corner of Musters Road, looking towards Loughborough Road.

Queuing traffic on Loughborough Road
Trent Bridge was closed on a Sunday morning because of the Asda Foundation ten-kilometre charity run, so cars were queuing to turn towards Lady Bay Bridge. On the top tier of the Radcliffe Road End of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground some spectators had arrived early for the start of a County Championship match.

Get the covers on - it's going to rain
This is the view from the top of the Radcliffe Road stand at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, with County Hall on the right. In the distance, the tops of the cooling towers and chimney of Ratcliffe Power Station, six miles away to the south west and usually clearly visible, are ghostly outlines as the rain clouds sweep in, a sure sign that rain will shortly stop play. This time it passed over quickly and the Notts-Yorkshire game was only briefly interrupted http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1601610 .

County Hall extension, Loughborough Road, Nottingham
A three-storey extension by Dan Lacey, County Architect, in 1962-63. It used the CLASP (Consortium of Local Authorities Special Programme) system, widely employed in schools.
Despite being much better than the stodgy neo-Georgian main building, this has since been demolished. Hence, photographer and subject location may be inaccurate.

Covers off - it's stopped
The rain that drove Notts and Yorkshire off has passed and the chimney and cooling towers of Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power station, where the prevailing weather comes from, can be seen again by spectators on the top of the Radcliffe Road stand. When they can't, it's time to get the covers on http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1534418 .

Over Loughborough Road
A view across Bridgford towards Clifton, with a crane on the site of the demolished Beckett School buildings, taken from the Radcliffe Road End of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on the penultimate day of the season. The back few rows of seats in the William Clarke Stand are in the foreground.
