Henry Blofeld in Bridgford Road
To mark the retirement, at the end of the Lord's Test Match against the West Indies, of the veteran BBC radio Test Match Special commentator and bus-spotter Henry Blofeld, Nottingham City Transport named the first of its bio-gas double deckers after him at a ceremony on the first day of the England v South Africa Trent Bridge Test Match on 14 July 2017. Henry Blofeld OBE runs on the No 6 Edwalton service and passes Trent Bridge several times a day. It had just stopped at the Hound Road stop near the main entrance to the ground.

West Bridgford: building on Bridgford Road
Looking towards Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on a September morning. In the distance steelwork was going up for a care home at the corner of Loughborough Road. The house on the right was to have been refurbished, but had to be completely rebuilt - and a year later, in September 2023, the work was nearly complete: Image

West Bridgford: a replica house nearly complete
This house was to have been refurbished, but dangerous structural faults were discovered and it was demolished, then completely rebuilt. According to local media, the owner aimed to "work collaboratively with the planners to ensure that our replacement home honours the appearance, character and stature of the original".
