Saracen's Head Yard
This was once the rear entrance to the Saracen's Head in the Market Place. But in the mid 1970s the old stabling and many minor but characteristc buildings were demolished to make for a rather bleak shopping centre and car park.

10 Lombard Street, Newark-on-Trent
Five bays and three storeys. Late C18th. All very easy on the eye, though its overall proportions, segmental-headed windows and pitched roof make it a rather old-fashioned design. Grade II listed. Offices of solicitors, Larken & Co.

Robin Hood Hotel
Empty and steadily decaying since 1998, the extant grade II listed parts of The Robin Hotel have been an eyesore in Newark for 21 years .... testament to the impasse between the developers and the Planning Authority, Newark & Sherwood District Council. Contrast this with January 2008 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/665712 This short series of photographs taken in August 2019 anticipate the recent news that the site is to be developed in to a 66-bedroom Travelodge Hotel.

Robin Hood Hotel
Historic, grade II listed former hotel in the centre of Newark, it has been empty for about 10 years and is now in a sorry state of repair. Newark & Sherwood District Council have placed it on their Buildings at Risk register and it seems that it will soon be re-developed.
