Onward to the Campaign !
The new(ish) bridge over the Trent frames the towers of the Sugar Factory. The campaign (the season of harvesting sugar beet and bringing it to the factory for processing) is well under way as evidenced by the steam coming from the factory. The Bridge otherwise acts as a convenient link from King's Marina to Aldi but I'm sure was intended for grander purposes.

River Trent, Jubilee Bridge at Newark
As its name suggests, Jubilee Bridge at Newark-on-Trent was built in the year of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee year (2002).
The bridge is a cable-stayed construction which needs only one tower for normal-sized spans and is becoming a popular design in preference to the traditional suspension bridge design which requires towers on both banks which are anchored to the ground.

Jubilee Bridge
A modern cable-stayed footbridge off Cow Lane which has increased the choice of crossings of the River Trent in Newark. Opened in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee.
