Langford House Farm
This is one of three fine limestone farmhouses (unusual in brick-and-pantile country) in Langford. The pretty windows and the brick tumbling in the steep gables are especially attractive. According to the Winthorpe Village Community website http://www.winthorpe.org.uk/langford1 the farmhouses date from c. 1700 and the rebuilding of the village after the medieval one had decayed.

Trent Valley view
Looking west across the Trent Valley, with the Muskhams in the distance. The Trent was once nearer Langford (whose name derives from an ancient ford), but after a cataclysmic flood, c. 1575, changed course, bringing the next village, Holme by Newark, to this side.
