Created during the rebuilding of the hall by the Nottingham architect T C Hine in 1853-59, the cast iron barrel roof doubtless inspired by the Crystal Palace of 1851.

The narrow lane connecting the Hall and church with the grand conservatory. The hall was built in 1798 enlarged and remodelled in 1829 and 1853

Church of St Augustine of Canterbury, Flintham
The nave to the left was built in 1828 as the old nave was ruinous and the transepts removed at the same time. The herringbone masonry at the base of the tower is Norman work. Listed Grade I. There is a bench mark http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3922538 just to the right of the blocked transept arch.

Pathway to Flintham Hall
This is very much a service entry to the hall, but retains some interesting features, including the stone paving. The wall to the right surrounds the churchyard and is Listed Grade II in its own right, for group value only.
