Monument to Sir Robert Heron (baronet) Stubton
Inscription reads: "BENEATH ARE DEPOSITED THE REMAINS OF SIR ROBERT HERON BART THE LAST OF HIS FAMILY WHO DIED (becomes illegible, but date was 29 May 1854) AND OF (illegible again) Sir Robert was owner of Stubton Hall (across the road) and served as a Wig MP for 36 years. Having no children the baronetcy ended with his death http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Robert_Heron,_2nd_Baronet The monument is close to the church, and presumably on consecrated ground
