A track, a.k.a. Middlefield, ends here at one of two entrances to the Fairfield (Mobile Homes) Park. Ramblers proceeding in the direction of Wellow - across the surrounding countryside - need to follow the footpath behind the chest-high 'footpath marker' notice that can be seen in the centre of this picture.

At the end of a mile-long track (known as Middlefield), i.e. behind the photographer, pedestrians and ramblers need to cross this railway bridge in order to pick-up a footpath towards Wellow. The commencement of the path, that skirts Fairfield Mobile Homes Park, is a few metres ahead on the other side of the bridge, adjacent to the entrance to the mobile home park.

The railway at Ollerton
Only one track seems to be in use - as a test track for Network Rail https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Marnham_Test_Track There is a campaign to reopen this line to passenger trains between Shirebrook Junction and a point a little to the east of where this photograph was taken. Stations would be provided at Warsop, Edwinstowe and Ollerton.
