Good weather for ducks...
...but not very good for horses. These are flooded paddocks near Nettleworth Farm. There were actually ducks using it too.

Cakes and cricket
Nottinghamshire's One Day Cup match against Derbyshire was held at the home of Welbeck Colliery CC, the John Fretwell Sporting Complex at Sookholme. Even before the match began at 11 o'clock the tea-and-cakes tent was doing a roaring trade (deservedly: the Victoria sponge was excellent).

The Media Centre at Welbeck CC
Print and broadcast journalists were housed in two tents at Nottinghamshire's One Day Cup match against Leicestershire at Welbeck Colliery ground. The Notts fielder is Samit Patel, who later scored 79 as Notts won comfortably. (Nearly two months later, Notts beat Surrey in the final at Lord's - see Image)

Welbeck Cricket Club: no play for three days
Play was possible only on the first day of Nottinghamshire's County Championship match against Hampshire and after continuous heavy rain the match was abandoned as a draw early on the fourth day. Houses in Spion Kop show in the murky distance.
