Restyling the College
Work is underway to transform the West Nottinghamshire College with these eye-catching buildings.
The redevelopment is part of the college's plans to bring as much teaching and learning as possible onto its main campus. It comprises a state-of-the-art new sports hall, to replace the one being demolished, and a building to accommodate (among other things) learners studying hair, beauty and complementary therapies).

Nottingham Road, Mansfield.
Construction work on the "Vision West Nottinghamshire College" site. Cauldwell Lane, that passes the end of the gymnasium-style building on left hand margin of the picture, joins the A60 (the main Mansfield-Nottingham road) to the photographer's left.

In all in probability this is West Nottinghamshire College's Derby Road Campus gym on Cauldwell Road with the A60 (Mansfield-Nottingham road) in the distance. and is travelling towards a nearby junction with the A611. This college was previously formerly known as West Nottinghamshire College & Vision West Notts. It is a further education college with its other campuses in Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield. The college was formed in the 1970s from an arts and technology college that was established in 1928.

This car has just passed what is probably West Nottinghamshire College's gymnasium on Cauldwell Road and is travelling towards a nearby junction with the A611. West Nottinghamshire College, formerly known as West Nottinghamshire College and Vision West Notts is a further education college with its other campuses in Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield. The college was formed in the 1970s from an arts and technology college that was established in 1928. The main road between Nottingham and Mansfield (the A60) lies 2-3 minutes away behind the photographer.

The western end of one of this educational site's buildings. "Vision West Nottinghamshire" College - dubbed: "a living piece of social infrastructure in grey, sand-coloured and red Proteus panels" - was completed 2014.
The entrance to Mansfield Crematorium lies just behind the photographer, on the other side of Derby Road (the A611). The junction with the main Nottingham-Mansfield Road (the A60) is less than 100 metres away on the left.
