44 Canal Street, Nottingham
Jolly old warehouse, its narrow street front given the treatment. Dated 1897, by W. Dymock Pratt.
At the top is the name of a previous occupant, Hardstaff, who made perambulators and wicker furniture (Nottingham City Council), presumably never combining the two. Now a bar and restaurant, Via Fossa.

Former Canal Museum, Nottingham
Now a public house but in 1995 very much a museum. Fellows, Morton & Clayton was a famous Midlands firm of canal carriers and operated a fleet of steam powered narrowboats in the early 20th century.

Canal Street, Nottingham
The Canal House (former Canal Museum) - A Geograph meet with Kate Jewell (Kayjay), David Lally (del salle) and Alan Murray-Rust (amr), was arranged here for later in the day and it was very enjoyable. Unbelievably, there was a narrowboat moored inside.
To the rear is the canal and beyond is the Magistrate's Court.

Fellows Morton & Clayton warehouse, Nottingham
Built in the late 1800s over an existing basin on the north side of the Nottingham Canal. Fellows Morton & Clayton was a well-known freight company on the canals, and goods would have been transhipped to and from boats inside the warehouse. In the 1980s this was Nottingham's Canal Museum, now it is a pub.

Nottingham - NG1 (Castle Wharf)
A view of a former factory or warehouse (currently the Via Fossa restaurant and bar complex) where Castle Wharf branches off from Canal Street (A6005) and travels towards the canal side. At the pinnacle of its front elevation is the name Hardstaff. However, who Hardstaff is remains a mystery for the moment.
