The first house
On the old Annesley Colliery site. This location was the site of the former pithead baths which escaped the early rounds of demolition and were earmarked as a reusable building. Sadly they too have disappeared, so leaving the site with no visible remainder of the industry that brought economic prosperity to this part of Nottinghamshire.

Looking west to the village and the spire of Annesley church on the hill. A peaceful scene with a few horses grazing, but once would have been very busy with railways and coal pit workings.

Old bridge
I imagine the coal trains used to pass under this bridge on their way into and/or out of Annesley Colliery. Anybody with local knowledge, please let me know.
