Green at Stripes View
This small area of green has been left undeveloped. It provides access to a footpath up to the ridge to the south of the village, and takes its name from the old strip fields.

Arable land to the south of Stripes View, as seen from Brickenell Road. The road surfaces were covered with sandy soil deposits as the result extraordinarily heavy rain in April washing top soil off the fields. A local man explained that an inexperienced farm-hand had ploughed the adjacent fields vertically, rather than horizontally, allowing the rainwater to wash large quantities of top soil into these streets.

The westerly elevation of a former infant school that was started in the village in 1833, plus a derelict cottage. The school was supported by the local Anglican church and parents contributed a few pence per week. It moved into this purpose-built structure at Burnor Pool in 1846 and became the National School in 1852. It is a brick building with a slated hip roof with access to the first floor via an external flight of steps. John Roe, a native of Calverton and the founder of a sect known as the Roe-ites performed baptisms in a pool in his back garden, Burnor Pool. Both properties are currently for sale.
