Arable land to the south of Stripes View, as seen from Brickenell Road. The road surfaces were covered with sandy soil deposits as the result extraordinarily heavy rain in April washing top soil off the fields. A local man explained that an inexperienced farm-hand had ploughed the adjacent fields vertically, rather than horizontally, allowing the rainwater to wash large quantities of top soil into these streets.
