The Manor House, Barnstone
Built in the local blue lias limestone. Originally 17th century, but altered and extended in the 18th and 19th centuries. Listed Grade II. The postbox http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3956091 is a relatively uncommon Edward VII wallbox with the later ornate cipher.

Ridge and Furrow at Roadside Farm
The evidence of medieval strip farming methods in this field is clearly visible in the November afternoon sunshine. Roadside Farm is to the right and was my intended destination on my walk. The missed footpath runs diagonally across the right hand corner of this photograph towards the gap between the buildings. See Image for an explanation and Image for the start of the walk.
