Ann Harrison
Delicately carved memorial for Ann Harrison on the south pillar of the chancel arch http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2517208 in St.Mary & All Saints' church. Ann Harrison was born 20th September 1829 and died 14th January 1928. During her long life she collected kitchen waste in a fish basket from her friends and neighbours which she sold for pig feed and the money she accumulated paid for the Roll of Honour book. She worshipped at St.Mary & All Saints' church throughout her 99-year life and to commemorate both Ann and her self-sacrifice, her friends gave this memorial, carved by M.Phillips. A recent housing scheme for elderly people has also been named "Harrison Court" in her memory.
