Brian Clough and Watson Fothergill
The statue of Brian Clough, Nottingham Forest's most successful manager, stands at the bottom of King Street, looking towards the Old Market Square. In the background is Queen's Chambers, one of the best-known works of Nottingham's most flamboyant Victorian architect, Watson Fothergill. For more about Fothergill, and pictures of most of his buildings, see http://www.geograph.org.uk/article/The-Buildings-of-Watson-Fothergill .

Some fine buildings in view - the end of Long Row on the left and King Street ahead. King Street keeps right and Queen Street to the left of the acute angled building with the little steeple.

The nice cut bench mark on the corner of the Bank of Scotland building is clearly visible at the bottom left of the picture. This mark was not included in the most recent review of bench marks in the area which took place in 1986.
